Wow, wish my freehand cutting was that good! Is this modeled after the JD or Cat in your picture? :)

Well, I didn't model it after anything. I just looked at pictures of them, used measurements from my bucket and machine, and thought about how I would be able to build it. This is just what it turned out to look like.

Thanks for the compliment, but there is definatley a lot of grinding to get this to where I need it to be. Makes me think about a cnc plasma table. Maybe for the next project.

Well, it has been a long time since the last post, but I have made some progress. All the welding is done. More grinding and probably some sand blasting - then paint!!! Here are some pictures.

Well I got it done and painted. No pics yet. When I called to get pins, I was blown away by the cost. They want $159 for each pin. I can't bring myself to buy 4 of them at that price and started looking around for others. Not much luck finding this size pin, so I now have another part to the project. I bought steel for 10 pins for 135 and found a heat treater that will harden it to rc42 for $72.50. The project this weekend is now to turn them to 39.5 mm or so, put a taper at the end and drill the retention pin hole. Time permitting I will also weld the collar to the non tapered end. Would be nice to be able to take a video of it changing buckets.

Well, I don't have any pins yet, but here is a pic of the hitch - the paint got scratched and there is some mud on it, but that is bound to happen. I also posted a pic of the first real lift - I am repainting my trailer and wanted to spin it around. That was close to the limit of what the mini can lift, so that felt good.
