Sorry for your loss. I hope my wife and her mom can make up before it’s too late but that fact that she brought a date to my father in law’s funeral sealed the deal that it probably won’t happen especially since they were married at the time. She wasn’t invited to our wedding (my wife’s doing) and has never met her granddaughter. For my wife and daughters sake I hope they mend fences before it’s too late.

I hope your wife's situation is recoverable. My wife has no relationship with her father. If he shows up, I'd probably go to jail.

That being said, she also has no relationship with her stepsister. Not the girl's fault her dad is her dad. Part of me wishes she would have reached out and built that bridge. At the end of the day, it's her relationship, not mine. I have to support her decisions.
