Mid PTO, what's it for?

Other then a belly mower, what else can use the Mid PTO?

Since I don't know a dang thing about tractors and I'm looking at the Kioti CK20 (mid PTO is an option), I'm wondering if it's even needed on most tractors.

Thanks folks.. I was just wondering what I should do if I purchase a tractor where the mid PTO was optional.

I guess I'm going to have to make sure I have it even though it seems I will not be getting a belly mower and I have a walk behind snow blower.

Well, I have it on my Kubota, don't use it (yet) but who knows. I guess it all depends upon how much they are charging for it? How long you you will be keeping the tractor? Meaning only when you sell the tractor it might be a feature people are looking for?
