Microsoft Excel ?

I''ve used Excel for years, but haven't run across this problem before. The 'font color' and 'fill color' formating options ceased working on my laptop. Cells that had previously been displayed in color, are now just black font; and attempts to create new entries in color fail. Any ideas what happened? Other formatting options, such as bold or italics, still work.

It is a MicroSoft gotcha. Reload/reinstall the software and it will be fixed.

What causes these problems is the unintentional overwrite/interactions of portions of the program by other installs. Put a bunch of games on and the average "work for a living" computer and it will fail.

Did you check your Protection permissions for that workbook? Maybe something is checked off making some formatting "read-only".
