Yes there is an oring on the shaft right below the “basket” it basically seals that area to the drive hub & locks the basket to the shaft when force is applied from the “tomb stone”..
There r 2 sizes of orings that go on the shaft depending on which wt cage u have..
It sounds like u have a single piece wt cage, so your oring is going to be thin..
I’m sure u saw the fat oring in the kit.?? THAT goes to the 2 piece wt cage that has 4 rubber buffers.. don’t use the fat oring..
I think u might be worried for nuthin.. your whole problem was the thrust washer position.. under the flyweights..
Now that u have both pieces sitting in the groove of the weights.. your good.
Your way ahead of the game than most.. at least you got yours to run..
