MF 263 Throttle Lever Issue

The throttle lever won't stay in position on my Massey Ferguson 263. When you pull the lever to raise the RPMs it won't hold position and slides back to idle. I know I could probably take it apart and figure it out but it's awful cold outside. Y'all got any quick fixes? Any place to adjust it so it stays in position?

Whichever controls you have, Classic or Ergonomic, nut #9 gets tightened until the throttle will hold. If it won't hold doing that, back off the nut, spray some brake cleaner on the friction disc #3, then tighten nut #9 again until throttle holds.

I have a friction washer setup like that in my 88 Shibaura made Ford. Friction washer not designed to last 35+ years & part number discontinued of course, ended up using alternating nylon and steel washers to create multiple friction interface surfaces to tighten up with the nylock or castle nut -worked great

Definitely missing the friction washer. Look up a throttle friction washer for a Ford or MF like this:
