Hi, new to the forum. I've got a 1977 Massey Ferguson 245 diesel. Water pump went out. I have replaced the pump, added fluid to the radiator but it doesn't seems to be circulating into the engine. I ran the engine until it was warm but I'm hesitant to run it too long. My first thought is a bad thermostat. I do not have a service manual. Any thoughts? Thanks, RT.

Good advice.

Just my :2cents: worth, but I always replace the thermostat when I change a water pump.

To all, thanks for the advice. I let the tractor run a while longer and the thermostat opened up. I'm back in business.
