MF 231S not charging

I have MF 231S. I took old alternator to repair shop but he said that it would be cheaper to get new one. I put new alternator on it and it’s still not charging. I took one of battery terminal off while cranked and motor died. What else could be the issue with charging? I think that read somewhere about it could be oil sensor. How do I check that?

You might take the new alternator to the repair shop to see if it is functional. New and functional are not the same thing. You could then ask why it does not seem to be working if it checks out okay.

Does the "lightning bolt" red light come on? I had a charging issue on the similar 240 and it was solely because the light was burned out in the dash. Replaced bulb and it worked.
