MF 202 1963 model/year Power steering problems

I have a 1963 model MF 202 in my shop with steering problems. I first replaced the pump due to low pressure issues. Power steering still not working. I removed the control valve mounted on the steering column. There does not seem to be any internal O-rings or seals, only the ones to keep oil from leaking externally. There is no obvious damage or wear as seen by the naked eye to the valve components, only 51 years worth of crud to be cleaned. The only other components of the system are the two steering cylinders which I intend to repack.
My question is...Has anyone dealt with this issue and can you please offer any help?

I had an old MF203 that I rebuilt the PS on more than once. That spool at the column is a strange device that never made sense. Steering box is a recirculating ball arrangement.
I would suspect the spool (valve) is bypassing somehow. I know that doesn't help much.
I'm trying to recall what I ran across... its been a while and I no longer have the manuals.

Does your power steering work at all?
Is it better one way and not the other?
Put your hand on both steering cylinders to get a feel for what temperature they are.
Start tractor and turn the wheel back and forth and then have someone hold it at full lock to the left and then retouching each steer cylinder to feel for a heat build up in the outer portion of the cylinder. Repeat for right side. Do it several times each way. If one cylinder starts to warm up while the other stays close to it's starting temp, that cylinder is bypassing.

I fear your problem is under the dash, but you need to rule out the bypass first.

Did you bleed it off after you changed the pump out?
