Measuring For A Toothbar

How accurate does the measurement for a bucket toothbar need to be? I've measured the inside dimension of my bucket with my trusty 25' Stanley tape measure and it's either 59 15/16" or 60".

I have not measured for a toothbar, but in doing windows (which I assume would be the same) we use the smallest measurement. I think you are very close at 59 15/16. You can shim it if it's a bit too small, but it's hard to cut material off if it's too big to fit into the bucket.

Very true...and if the bucket is a bit smaller back in where ya bolt it, it might give ya grief.

Mike, have you looked on Carver's site? I belive they go into the measurement aspect there.

Yes, I did check Carvers, in fact I just sent them an email. I measured my bucket at the front where it juts out (see picture).

I gave Carver the exact size I wanted and when it arrived it was approx. 1/2 inch short. As already mentioned, shims are easier than cutting off.
It is working as expected so far. Don't forget to floss. /w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif

I'll second what Norris (gotrocks) said - my bar from Carver's came about 1/4" short from the measurement I gave them, and I just shimmed it with t couple of washers at each end. I'd give them the 60" dimension, and you should be fine.
