- 2001 Cub Cadet 7205 (Mahindra 2015/2216)
I have driven both and I can see the value of the HST with a lot of Loader work. Thanks to all for the great feedback!
After using the Max 28, HST, for a couple of months I find the Yanmar "Shift on the Go" would have been a great feature for this tractor, also I do wish it had a little lower gearing.
I got to ask, in your case, why the Max28 Vs. the Yanmar 424? http://www.yanmartractor.com/content/resources/specsheets/SA424_SpecSheet.pdf
They could be near twins.

That is the exact tractor that got me thinking on switching to a little larger tractor.
Lifting capacity on the 424 is 1100 lbs and I wanted a tractor that could lift a little more.
Started looking at lift capacity, found the Mahindra picked up the most for the size, 1400 lbs. I have a lot of rock projects coming up and wanted a tractor that could move larger rocks without feeling tippy.
So I drove a Max28 and liked the feel, it felt heavier, the hydraulics felt solid but no shift on the fly; I thought at the time it would not be a problem but I do,wish I had it now.
I have lifted a rock in a size the smaller SC2450 would have not picked up and the Max handled it without a problem.
If the new Yanmars could come up in lifting power I would seriously look at them for another replacement.

If anyone is looking for a Max 28 shuttle and is close to Mineral Wells WV check out Tractor Pros | Tractor Supply Company. I was there today and they have 5 setting on the lot.
I found this on Amazon
Amazon.com : TERAPUMP TRFA01 4 AA Battery Powered Fuel Transfer Pump w/ Flexible Intake hose and No-spill Auto-Stop Nozzle attachable to gas cans and more : Grocery & Gourmet Food
It is a battery operated pump that fits a 5 gallon fuel can. It fills it pretty quick and has an auto shut off so very little fuel spill.
I've run about 20 gallons through it so far and have not changed the batteries yet.
