Max 25 PTO issue

Hello all, I'm new here and I'm looking for free advice. I have a 2013 Mahindra Max 25, and I have a problem with the rear PTO. I have a 60" rototiller on, I have used it many times with no problems, the tractor seems to handle it fine. I've even tilled sod a few times. But now the PTO isn't working correctly. I shift the PTO lever into gear and the output shaft turns but then I put even a light load on the rototiller it stalls, by stalls I mean it stops instantly. It's as if it kicks out of gear (the lever doesn't move). If I engage the clutch for a couple seconds the PTO shaft jumps like it's going back into gear and I release the clutch pedal and it spins again - until I put a load on it again. No load it keeps spinning. I don't have a service manual ...yet so any help is appreciated.

Fist thing I’d check is the linkage to verify it’s fully shifting into PTO. Beyond that someone with more knowledge of the MAX 25 May have an idea. It sure seems like it’s just barely engaged and jumps out with any load.....

I pulled the seat and checked ...everything seems okay. Mahindra said something about a worn collar but it only has 200hrs total and maybe 30-40 of that the PTO was spinning. Thanks for your input.

Do a search for your tractor and the PTO issue on TBN. It seems to me someone else had the same issue- I’m not 100% though. If nothing else I’m giving this a bump........

Thanks for the input. I looked and there is a couple about PTO problems but those the owner cannot engage the PTO at all. Not sure what "giving it a bump" means but thank you I'm sure it will be helpful.

A bump is just forum slang for pushing your topic back to the top of the list by posting something.......as in this! Haha
