Reading the post below I remembered seeing this add in a local paper: http://www.mattracks.com/index.htm

Does anyone have any experience with this company? What do these units go for? And what are they "really" needed for - mud bogs...../w3tcompact/icons/cool.gif

I've never seen such tracks but I have to wonder about the level of effort for the steering cylinder. With the front tracks sticking out so far, it must require substantially more effort to steer. I'm not sure that I'd like to put that kind of load on my steering.

I've seen something similar several years ago on some pipeline company pickup trucks. I also saw a trailer with them on it. He said it pulled much easier over the fields than tires.

I, too, heard that they were extremely hard on the steering.

Those guys were at the Fryeburg Fair here in Maine back in Oct. There was both a truck and an ATV with tracks on display. Their sales pitch was for use in the deep snow. Around 18K for the truck conversion.
