Restoring a Massey Ferguson 210-4. Im looking for 4wd front drive parts etc. Had a graphics company reproduce the instrument panel decals for this series of Massey if anybody needs a replacement, they go on easy and are exact duplicate of original

Welcome to the forum, sounds like you're doing a full-up restoration. Have you taken any pictures you can share, lots of interest in restoration projects and a great way to share 'lessons-learned" for those considering similar projects.

According to tractordata.com the Massey Ferguson 210-4 was manufactured by Hinomoto from 1978-1984 in Osaka, Japan. My understanding is that getting parts for anything made by Hinomoto can sometimes be next to impossible. Good luck. :)

agco has the front end parts I need. They are very exspensive new. If these tractors were imposible to repair the salvage yards would have plenty of them for used parts. They must be fairly servicable tractors. They built a lot of them

will post detail photos when I can. This is a fun little tractor to wrench on. It is very simple but built with quality parts that are easy to refurbish

Well Scott, either you've found a real gem there or you've done an incredible amount of work, either way, well done! It looks like it just rolled off the factory line.

Robert,
Thanks for the kind words. I was somewhat ashamed of how my 210-4 looked before I started to spiff her up, so I didnt take a lot of photos before the restoration. She was not in horrible condition but needed all new paint, decals and hardware. Agco had many parts but some items like the instrument panel decal had to be reproduced from a photo . I replaced a lot of hoses and rubber parts after removing all the ancillary devices from the engine compartment including the radiator and battery tray. The whole tractor including the rear fluid filled wheels were amazingly corrosion free. The loader bucket was dinged up so the nice guys at Menconi Welding in Brookfield, MO made a new bucket for me using the original bracket ($400) Brookfield Tire installed 2 new rear tires and tubes for ($560) and now all I have to do is find one more front 4WD part to completely finish her. The part is available from Agco new. but I will save lots of money if I am patient and get it from a salvage yard. For now she is 2WD only, but is perfectly functional for me. I have restored several cars, motorcycles and aircraft but didnt realize how much fun tractor restorations can be. This little tractor is elegant in it's simplicity and a real pleasure to own.

Get the part numbers from agcopartsbooks then have your local Massey dealer look for old stock parts from dealers around the country. If your dealer won't do this call Green Hills Ag in Brookfield, They are super helpful . My number is 314-960-4416

Those are awsome tractors. You should find that the engine is Toyosha. There is a Hinomto equivelent # that might be better for part searching than using a Massey#. Do a Google I think you will find it.

Could I please get the information on the graphic company and if you don't mind me asking what they charged for it?

Scott your tires are on backwards.

Scott your tires are on backwards.

reversed tires in front would be very beneficial on a tractor used for loader work. When the rear end gets light with a loaded bucket the front tires will grip better and self clean backing out of a pile. Farmers would often reverse the drive tires on combines so they can back out of a row of crops when the ground gets too soft to go forward.

Well maybe we all should switch our tires over. No one I know does this,is this a case thing? You have to load your bucket first and the way those tires are you get less traction going forward.

The fronts would only dig well if the FIN was loaded. Pushing into a pile the back wheels are doing all the pushing. Is your MF 4WD with a loader? It makes sense if the FIL shifts the COG to the front. If he has loaded rear tires it's somewhat a mute point what kind of tires on the front. -kid

?????????????How many 135s have 4wd? How many tractors you see besides this one with the tires on backwards? Maybe a factory option kids?

He may very well have put them on there by mistake. Or maybe not. If the OP likes it that way, why does it bother you? Maybe he realized what he did and changed it. Maybe he did it to get a reaction from the peanut gallery. Maybe just maybe they are more for navigation than any other purpose. I wouldn't allow children to play with real tractors option or no option.. Your mileage may vary. - the kid
