Massey Ferguson GC2300
Greetings, Last summer my GC2300 with FEL started cranking slow when hot. I don't mean overheated but hot after normal use for 30 minutes or so. If I shut it off when hot it will not crank fast enough to start it until it cools down. The tractor starts easily even in cold weather when the engine is cool. About 2 summers ago I replaced the starter with a cheap replacement from Amazon so I was thinking it was the cheap starter. This last winter while doing other repairs on the tractor I replaced the starter with a more expensive one that was advertised as 'High Torque' but the issue still exists. Personally I think the starter is still the problem but would like to hear if someone has other thoughts.

Have you load tested the battery?

No, I don't have the tools to do that. Can I take the battery to Autozone and have it load tested without being in the tractor?

I will add that I do keep a battery tender on the battery 24/7 and it has the most cold cranking amps I could get for the size of battery it is.

Check the battery cables. They cab corrode internally. Make sure the battery connections and especially the chassis ground is "bright and tight".

Yes an auto parts store can usually do that.
