Massey Ferguson 431 injection pump problems

I've been trouble shooting a fuel problem with this tractor for a while. It will run all day at a steady throttle but as soon as I reduce the rpms it will die. It will only restart after completely cooling off or by pouring cold water on the injection pump. I replaced the lift pump thinking that may be the problem but it still behaves the same. Parts for this tractor are almost impossibleView attachment 594836 to find other than from the dealer. A new pump runs $2800. Does anyone know of another pump that will work with this tractor. It has a Perkins DC38077*u015623n* engine with a Perkins 2643B327 injection pump.

An injection pump shop should be able to do a rebuild for less than $1k. Also check at tractor salvage yards, around here, they charge about $500 for a pump off a junked tractor and guarantee that the pump will work.
