I have a Massey Ferguson 35 older Model (60's) and it is stuck in 2nd gear. I have always been able to get it unstuck before but this time I haven't in spite of trying everything I knew to do. Can someone out there give me some advice and direction that will help me
with this situation. I would certainly appreciate it.

Thanks

Doesn't this model have the gear shift lever you can pick up enough it will clear the shifter slots in the transmission? Think you will find it does. If so you need to remove the top plate (shift lever is mounted in it) and look carefully until you see (will be just below where the shifter enters the transmission) the two slots which will form a single wider slot when both are in alignment. Slide them so both are in aligned with each other. Should be where you can reassemble and be able to not freely shift. Just don't pull on the shifter lever and you probably will not have the problem.

is it stuck in 2nd, or stuck in 2nd and some other gear thus binding.

if it's in 1 gear only, not a big deal to remove cover and pry back o neutral, then check the shift pattern and nub .. etc.rails, forks and detents for wear.

if in 2 gears.. jack up rear, and then rotate engine backwards a hair while prying it back to neutral.

Thanks to both of you who posted. I have had this problem before and had no problem getting it unstuck, but this time it has been really stuck.
Thanks so much and God Bless

getting it off the ground will free the rear wheels and help unbind it.. same with spinning engine backwards 1/8"

good luck

Sometimes you can take the fill plug off the top of the cover and pry the gears with a big screw driver.
