I have a 2004 Massey Ferguson 1440 compact tractor. 5 out of the 8 bolts broke holding the ring gear to the differential. Chewed some mark on the ring and pinion gear. Ring and Pinion are no longer available. Havent had any luck finding a used set. Anybody have one kicking around? Or know of one?
Thanks
Frank

No luck finding new or used ring and pinion for mine. The contact area was not really damaged. I removed the burs and polished with a stone, ordered new bolts and had a good contact patern with proper backlash.
It is working good. Is yours gear or hydro? Mine is gear and is a different ratio than hydro. I did find a burnt hydro at a wrecker, but was no good to me, unless I changed the front as well.

Might try Tractor House for salvage units or Midwest Tractor salvage. The older they get the more orphaned they become.

I'll try those places. Thanks.
Do you remember where you found the bolts? I'll need those too.

Thanks!!

I ordered through my dealer

I believe there was a bulletin on this that involved some harder bolts or maybe different ring gear with larger diameter bolts - might ask a dealer.
