I posted several months ago that I had a problem with my 1233 only having high range. Well I finally got around to breaking it down and found the rear case is busted where the snap ring goes behind two bearings to hold the shaft coming from the transmission to the back axles. I bought this tractor second handed and was told they had put a clutch/pressure plate in it. But as I broke it down I've found silicone indicating the transmission had also been worked on too. There was also a gear stuck on the sub change system. I called and got a price on the rear case ($1,152.00).
I have a machinist friend that is going to look at repairing it. If it is not repairable does anyone know where I might find a used one in a salvage yard and also was this rear case used on other models which would help my chances of finding one.
