Maple Syrup.

Any TBNer's making maple syrup this year?
This year plan on making 3 or 4 gallons only instead 100 gallons.

I will be. I tap around 240 and last year made 142 gallons of maple syrup.

I'm keeping an eye on the forecast for tapping weather - it's still too cold here. Last year at this time I'd been boiling a couple of times. Only doing 725 buckets this year - getting old and lazy!

Best maple syrup i've ever had was a gift from my cousin in Michigan. It was made just down the road from her.

240 trees or 240 taps ? If its the latter then I must say those are uber productive sugar maple trees !

240 taps and yes, last year was a very good year.

I plan to make a few gallons. My neighbors just started tapping this weekend; they get them in early to avoid missing the early runs, and with their vacuum system the tapholes don't heal over prematurely.
