Map of TBN Users

Hello,

Is there a map of where everybody on these forums lives? Approximately, I mean. I know many folks include location info in their profiles, and I know Google maps is capable of plotting that data.

It would be great to get some sense of where most folks are, and who and how many might be near me.

There seems to be no consistency to how people populate the location field in their profiles. Some use city, state. I've also seen regional abbreviations like "NorCal" and foreign countries where only the country is named. Pretty hard to normalize that kind of data to geo code it and show it on a map.

Cool idea though. Maybe the TBN webmasters can consider adding real city, state and country fields with an opt-in choice for members to participate in mapping.

Right now we're working on a bunch of new features... we have a forum upgrade coming soon and with that we will look at adding a member map feature that utilizes Google maps.

We're hoping to do the forum upgrade in the next few weeks.

I noticed the lack of software brand at the bottom after the last upgrade.
It's now a feature, you can have the name ********** removed...
