I want to make my own sandbags, since I can do it much cheaper than buying them. I can self load a ton of sand for $7.50 and make 33 60lb bags. The cheapest pre-made bags I can find are about $2.50 each for 60lb bags. I just need to find some empty bags for a decent price. Has anyone ever bought anything from:

I tried to send them an email at their address listed on their web site and it bounced back.

Does anyone know what stores might sell empty sandbags or burlap bags?

I can't find a source for sand bags, but I can buy a ton of coarse sand loaded for $9.95. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

The email I sent to SALES@eSANDBAGS.COM went though after all, even though I got a message back saying it didn't. So, since they answered my email I have more confidence in using them. They have empty sandbags for $0.16 each and the shipping for 20 would be $6. So, I might just end up going with them unless I can find a better price. The local co-op has them, but their price is $0.80 each. Either way is cheaper than buying the pre-made ones. I'm going to be at a Quality store later this week, so I'll check them out. I'm in no hurry and really don't want to spend any more than I have to just for a bunch of bags full of sand!

We must have been typing at the same time! I'll check those places out. Thanks.

Our local National Guard armory gives them out for free before storms. Also, any coffee roaster in your area will gladly give you all the burlap you want. Here at Green Mountain we have to pay to dispose of the empties not taken by local farmers.

If you come to Vermont I'll give you a few thousand.

Check with your local Fire Department. They should have sand bags. They should also be able to tell you where they get them. Or, as someone mentioned already, try the National Gaurd
