Cut them all in half along the tread and then you only need half as many tires. That's how we do it on our silage bunkers.

I agree with cutting in half that's the way I've seen it done around here

You cut them with a circular saw? I wouldn't think any blade would go through both rubber and steel.

I just did this for dock bumpers at our camp. Tried a drill, but the hole just closed back up. Didn't have a hole saw so I used a reciprocating saw with a bi-metal blade to cut a hole. Worked great in the 2 old mud grips I had because they didn't flex, not as well in the 2 regular tires because they flexed a lot. I think the hole saw would be the ticket.

I use a reciprocating saw with a wood blade. It doesn't take very long to do it.
