Hi all,
I am getting very close to buying the 2615hst and would like to hear from other owners about their experience with this tractor, good and bad. Also would like to hear from any mahindra owner about the level of service for warranty issues. (i.e. <being told something is not covered> <problems that werent fiexed right> <or even being able to get warranty service at all> <and hopefully the bext service thay could hope for>

I am planning on buying this from Fairfield tractor and supply in columbia south carolina, so any experience with this dealer would be appreciated!

Thank you for your responses!

I don't know if this will help, or maybe take it as a good sign, but so far I have not had any problems whatsoever with my 2015HST. Someone told me once that the 15 series tractors are pretty much bulletproof, and my experience has shown that to pretty much be the case. I have all the normal maintenance performed and anytime I want to do a job, it's ready to work.

First of all, welcome to TBN.

I believe that if you go back several years here on the Mahindra forum, you will find very few reported problems with the entire Mahindra 15-series. I think that few of us ever got to use our warrantees, because few of us ever had any problems with the tractors. The few issues I had, like an incorrect brush guard, and an incorrect hose on my backhoe, were settled immediately.

If you feel comfortable with the dealer, you should be in great shape.

My 2615 has gone above and beyond my expectations many times. I've definately lifted/pulled more than I'm supposed to, and it's never let me down. My only complaint (not really tractor related) is lack of traction with my r4's when ground engaging. I love the r4's for everything else, but Ag's just give better traction. If I had a set of each, my 2615 would then be perfect. Although I just ran a subsoiler 20" deep with very little wheelspin today. I was pretty impressed. As for warranty work, I can't comment either. But I believe that with consistent routine maintenance, the tractor should be problem free for many years. If you have any specific questions about the tractor, feel free to ask.

My 2615hst is a beast. A friend with a 35 horse john deere was very impressed. Heavy, biggest axles around. Buy it.

I have been selling Mahindras for 5 yeas now and I proberly only wrote a hand full of warranties on the 15 series Mahindras.
As a matter in fact I own a 7305 Cub which is the same as the old 3015 I have over 1,200 hours and the only problem I ever had was a fuel line from the fuel filter rubbed thru.

I would buy it in a heart beat mattern fact I would sell you one in a heart beat also!:D

I have not had to use my warranty for anything. I thought I was going to twice, but one was just ice in the loader control that made it stick in the float position and the other was the 3 point lift lever needing some oil sprayed on it. I have really tested this tractor in the year I have owned it and it's really impressive what it can do. I paid a little extra and got the rear tires filled which helps with stabillity and traction. Maybe that could be something the dealer could throw into the deal for you.

Ken,
I've had my 2615HST since Aug. 2004. Only had one warranty issue with the loader joystick control valve. The valve developed an internal leak during the first year allowing the loader to drop slowly to the ground (1 1/2-2" per hour) which wasn't normal to me. The owners manual that came with mine had troubleshooting info which led me and the dealer to agree the valve was bad. My dealer ordered the valve and called me when it came in, I dropped it off and he replaced the valve. Other than that I did have to replace my glow plugs since 2 of 3 went bad for some reason. I've done my own routine service and added an inline lower hose heater for the cold winters here. Tractor has about 240 hrs. with no other problems. A friend of mine liked mine so much that he bought one in 2006. The only problem he's had is his headlight bulbs blew out and he replaced them.

My 2615 has about 275 hours on it since June 2005, when it was new. Not long after I bought it, it developed a small hydraulic leak, a small bolt holding part of the grill fell out, and the fan shroud bolts loosened to the point the shroud dropped into the fan blades and chewed them up a bit. The dealer took care of these things on warranty, although I had to pay him for hauling. I noticed several months later the mechanic had misaligned the fan belt, and it was riding fully outside the groove in the pully. It is a miracle it never slipped off.

As for the minor problems above; dealer told me some of the tractors had come in assembled at the factory, and others were being finish assembled at the dealer. It seems the ones from the factory weren't being thoroughly checked out.

Over all, I have no complaints, and only praise for the capabilities of this fine machine, and have a great deal of confidence it will serve me well for a lifetime. It is easy and inexpensive to operate. It is heads above any other brand for its horsepower, weight, and lifting ability.

I recommend filing the rear tires, and if you get a loader, and you should; also consider adding a toothbar from Markham Welding. Your digging capability will amaze you.

Buying my 2615 was one of the best decisions ever. Next to my Leatherman Super Tool, it is my favorite tool.

I have a 2615 gear and to be honest I have experienced some small issuse with it, but my dealer has been great. This winter the valves were making a tapping sound, the dealer came and picked up the tractor, adjusted the valves and delivered it back to me the next day. Very good service. But, here is the big one, I have now experienced a knocking sound in the rear of the engine. I am still trying to see whats causing this issue, but I am sure Mahindra will take care of it. The sad part is I only have 79 hrs on it.
I would buy another one tomorrow if I had to, but for now I want to enjoy this one.
