Mahindra tractors

I ordered Mahindra parts during COVID, and I got them within two weeks. Parts are not hard to get for Mahindra tractors, based on my limited experiences (ordered twice, within two years: 1st time from my local dealer; 2nd time from an online Mahindra parts dealer in Pennsylvania?).

Considering that Mahindra sells more tractors, world-wide, than any other manufacturer, they are doing something right. Sales numbers speak louder than reviews published anywhere, and Mahindra has outsold every other maker, for many consecutive years in recent history. Cheers!

Where's the OP that started this thread?

I don't have enough personal experience to say anything about Mahindra one way or the other. I do know enough about business and demographics to know that using sales volume as an indicator of quality is just wrong. Lots of reasons a brand will sell more than a superior product. Price is one of those, but even beyond price...marketing: public perception is created by fooling people. Why do more people follow the Kardashians than Tractor Time with Tim? The content sure isn't better. More people drink Budweiser, but it is inferior by any reasonable measure to most other beers.

I dont drink beer, IMO the Kardashians are a symbol of our rotting country and Tractor time with Tim is also IMO a joke ,the same as 99% of Youtube content creators who are paid 1000's of dollars for their favorable "opinions". I have never seen a tractor brand create as much controversy as Mahindra. Some of us did research and got exactly what we wanted with Mahindra.

I guess I don't see Mahindra as a brand that advertises a lot in order to sway public perception. Other brands of green and orange, yes. That's been my personal experience.
To be honest, the tractor I wanted from Mahindra, that compared to my Branson/TYM, was much more costly from Mahindra

One member recently posted they had gotten a quote of $24K for a L2501HST with a loader, and the big TYM dealer near me was selling the T474HST with a loader for $25,900 this month. I'd be hard pressed to recommend buying the Kubota instead of the T474 at those prices if there's a good TYM dealer near them.

Our we bought our Mahindra 45 minutes away out of state for tax purposes. Just a few days ago we found out our dealer is opening a new store a few miles from our house. Pretty good luck for once. Usually the dealer would close or something. I'm 52 years old and the dealer we bought from has been around since I was 2. So I guess its a good sign they are still going strong. If you ever need a tractor Hirsch feed and farm is a great group of people.

The standard L series Kubotas are very stripped down units… the standard Korean import has so much more to offr

25hp ECM v 48 hp mechanical is a huge difference.

Sorry, I didn't finish my thought on that, wife called and she is dealing with stuff now so I stopped.

Again, I am not knocking Mahindra here, just the logic about volume equaling quality or 'better' whatever that means. There have been lots of studies into this phenomenon and volume of sales simply do not have a direct correlation with quality.

Mahindra is the biggest player in India. India is about 3X the size of the US. Beyond that, India is still about 60% rural, the US is only about 10% rural. That roughly means the potential market for tractors in India is 18X that of the US. Assuming many people in India are like many people in the US and like to buy local, that is a huge advantage in 'local' sales. In most countries, local goods are much less expensive, too. So, in Mahindra's case the high volume is not necessarily marketing. If China decided to force all Chinese farmers to buy Jinma (or whatever other brand the CCP owns most of), would that then make that brand better? I don't know any more about Jinma than Mahindra, but the logic holds. More volume of sales does not mean better.
