Heavy snow last night. Roughly 7in fell thru the day, i started clearing around 5pm and finished about 630.

No traction issues since loosening the chains on the rear tires. Got em to spin once, but that was my own fault. Bit off a little more than Max could chew.

Loader worked perfect, with bucket curl/dump working in float mode like it used to. Reached out to the dealer to let him know that the problem mysteriously fixed itself. Going to put this in a holding pattern until the next storm goes by.

Shift; glad this resolved itself. Takes just a spec of debris to screw things up. I waited till this afternoon around 3:00 to clear mine. The rain made it like moving cement. Always felt moving 8" of wet snow was more difficult than moving 20" of fluff and this was no exception. As I have no paving, I hate it when the ground is not frozen hard and then we get a dump of wet snow on top of soft ground. I really tore up my gravel drive this run. This is the kind of stuff you want to remove as much as possible as it packs just like cement if you leave some down and keep rolling over it. It takes me 30 minutes to do my 100' drive and 5000 sq ft landing and 1000 sq ft street side with 8" of dry stuff. This one took 2 hrs. If your rear blade is bent as opposed to radiused, Wright's welding on Rt6 can easily copy the bend for you to create "extensions you can weld or bolt on to make it 6'. 12" long extensions (allowing for 6" overlap) should do ya and the price would be nominal..

Sad to report that my loader issue returned during yesterday's cleanup. I've been back in touch with Dubay and they are reaching out to Mahindra USA to get the ball rolling on a repair. I'll give a more detailed report on the forum i started about it.

You're not kidding about the snow. I was out about 9am right when the rain started to fall. Figured best that i get the bulk of the accumulation moved before it really got heavy. Even then... took me 1.5h to do all 1400ft and clear each end. The teardrop at the bottom takes a good while as it gets 2-3x wider than the road itself. The only part of my drive that's paved is right in front of the house... but the rest took a beating just like yours. On the plus side, exposing some gravel makes it easier for the wife to get up the hill in her FWD car. 2nd clearing around 3 after the bulk of the ice fell. That took just as much time as I put in extra effort to push the banks back.... just in case this storm Sunday is worth a dam.

If you have the Woods (mine is the RB 6) then you have a radius or curve to the mold board. Don't know if Wrights can handle a radius on 3/16" thick metal but I'll ask him about it the next time I'm over there. Wright's would handle the whole thing and you'd just drill and bolt the extensions. Don't you love the way the weather people just love to get our juices flowing with talk about an impending storm that hasn't even developed yet. Sorry about the problem arising again. I can almost guarantee it is a simple problem that has hasn't been discovered especially that it seems intermittent.

I had to laugh at this. The local weather forecasters can only say "Accumulating snow" for this weekend. Give me a break. I take that in one of two ways. First, it's going to be all hype, no storm. Or the opposite... dad's old rule of "When they can't agree... we're f'ked". Either way I'm ready, nearly rolled max twice pushing the banks off the low side of the driveway. I puckered so good i think i have a hole in my seat now.

Thanks for looking into those extensions for me. What would be ideal is if they could incorporate the extension into a new scraper blade. No new holes, and likely it'd be more rigid having it be all one piece. The RB-5 is definitely curved vs crimped.... I gave myself a facepalm when i read your reply.

The service manager at Dubay told me that Mahindra suggests a hydro valve adjustment. Something they can do in site. I told him if it's relatively simple to forward me some instruction so i can try to make the adjustment myself. Give a man a fish... teach a man to fish.... If i get that info I'll be sure to post it.

One thing that I notice is no matter how much I adjust my top link, when my blade is angled the front is always lower than the back. Is there another adjustment that I'm not seeing?

Shift, if your's is anything like my 3 pt, you should have an adjustment that allows one side to be brought higher than the other by screwing it up or down. It should be on the right as you are looking at the rear and looks like a short top link connected to one of the lift arms. If you cannot find it, I'll send you a picture of mine. My idea of the extensions, if they can seamlessly be incorporated into your present blade, would be stronger than the blade itself.

I think i have seen those adjustments. For some reason i thought they were more side/side than an angle. I wont be home before dark tonight, or tomorrow... but i'll have a look back there on Saturday. What i might be thinking of is two silver "links" that adjust left and right offset... I'll have to take a closer look.

I'm def interested to see if you can get those wings made... keep me posted. PM me for a phone number if you feel that would be a better medium.

Love my snow blower for these larger storms in particular, it just does such a nice job in cleaning everything up. Plus I enjoy the spoft cab, makes it comfortable when blowing snow around at 5 degrees.

Jealous of your cab...

Also starting to consider the blower vs front plow. I just worry that blowers leave that "little bit" on the ground. With my hill i think that little bit of snow would be worse than you'd think.

My blower leaves about the same as my plow did and I too have a hill, hence the chains. I have had no problem getting up and down the hill. I do wait until the storms are over to blow the snow as it does a nicer job when there are a couple of inches or more to blow.

Right on, thanks for the tip. One question, i know the blower frame ties into the draw bar area. Does it stop you from using the 3pt or rear PTO in any way?

It does not stop you from using the PTA, it is attached to the mid PTO for power

Did you install your cab or have it done. I'm tossing around the idea of pulling the trigger on one in the next week or so. I"m just curious if it's something i can do at home or have it done at dealer. Keep in mind I have no garage and would be doing the job completely outside.

Yesterday's storm was the worst yet. When i was done I was the closest to hypothermia that i've been in a long time. Didn't help that my loader hyrdos were being a wicked pain in my arse.

More on that in the post i made for it...

I put it on myself, it was very easy to do and yours will be exactly the same. Just keep the plastic inside and warm and install the brackets and frame and put the plastic on last. We did ours outside too this year.

Awesome, that's what i was hoping. I've had just about enough of being soaking wet while clearing the drive.

I've heard some say that the way it's situated you get a decent amount of heat in there from the motor. That sound accurate to you?

More and more I'm leaning toward the blower vs the snow blade. Banks are the biggest reason. My drive has low spots that give me little room to pile snow on either side like a plow would. This is making me pull it all the way down to the bottom then pile with the loader. I worry that i'll have to do the same with a snow blade, then swap out for the loader to finish the job. Using a blower would completely eliminate that worry.

I plan to buy either over the summer, maybe snag a dealer leftover from this year. I know my dealer uses a Max25 with blower to manage his snow removal... and I'm hoping he'll be moving on from it to the new model. Might be keen to put my name on it now so it doesn't go to someone else.

It is true that the engine puts off enough heat to keep you very comfortable in the cab. I blew snow this year at -5 and was very worried I would freeze my arse off because I have metal rods in my back. To my surprise I was very comfortable,. Do you have ag tires or lawn? I have lawn with chains that are tight and have had no issues on my hill even with all the ice we have had this year. I seldom even use 4wd.

I have lawn with chains that are tight and have had no issues on my hill even with all the ice we have had this year. I seldom even use 4wd.

I have Industrial Tires on mine. With some cheap thin chains. I do just fine with traction if i don't try to pull/push too much. Pulling the blade up my hill can be tricky, but down is never a problem. I'm 100% 4wd tho, and would be very surprised if that ever changed. I guess when not trying to find traction on top of the snow, things could be different.

As of now I'm leaning the way of the blower. Just being able to widen the road with little effort is a huge selling point for me. Glad I'm taking a year to pick before dumping the $$.

I believe I paid nearly 4k for mine. I know I posted somewhere on here how much I paid for my blower. It was expensive, but for me the only option. I did not want to put a plow on my new truck.

I'm in the same boat. In fact i bought a truck you cant even put a plow on.... but that's a whole other topic. Why do they make trucks that cant be trucks?

Part of me wants to buy the blower and plow for the max. I know they share a frame, so i expect the plow would be much cheaper if the frame was already purchased with the blower. 4k is alot of money, but still 1-2k less than an entry level truck plow. AND you put the wear and tear on the tractor.... No brainer.

One of the two options will happen before next winter. I had planned to hold off for the cab and buy at the same time, but I'm not sure I'm going to make it.

I paid $3,358 which is what Dana quoted me in Waterboro, so Ryan matched it. He told the kid to charge $3795 to everyone else. I am sure he would match Dana if you mentioned it.
