Mahindra Seats

OK, I checked in with the dealer and Mahindra has a seat upgrade available - dealer cost is $275, he wants $350 for it
including shipping.
Seat is a high back, has folding arm-rests, tilting seat-back, slide adjustable position (front-to-back) and adjustable gas shocks for set suspension (up/down).
includes a set belt too, I think.
After filling the rear tires with anti-freeze and water the ride is a little softer but my back took a pounding with the stock seat. Going to get the seat this week and may post the results next week if all goes well.
I think this is a very worthwhile upgrade.

Well I'm having so much fun talking to myself on this board
that I guess I'll just skip the follow up to my new seat.
But I will say just how hard this tractor rides. Ouch !

I'm not sure if my tractor rides any harsher than any other tractor but I am positive that the speed I'm going makes a huge difference! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Granted, speed will kill your back on uneven and rock strewn ground. I've learned to slow to a crawl out in my fields.
The stock seat just seems to bottom out very abruptly and my lower back takes all the punishment. I removed the FEL to do finish mowing with the new seat installed and I must say there was a tremendous difference noticed by me. The folding armrests are a big plus also since I can now rest my elbows on them while steering and operating the FEL joystick which after several hours of work makes me less sore and tired.
The seat wound up costing me $312.00 out the door and was fairly easy to install. It is weight adjustable and decellerates my body rather than whacking me against the end-stops when I run over a rock or dip in the ground. Here in North Alabama we have a lot of chert (Gravel to medium sized stones) in the soil so culling rocks is a state pass-time.
I'll try to keep her below 1500 RPM in second-high when travelling from one project to the next in the future. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

It depends on what size of tires you have. What size do you have?

I have a 4110 Mahindra with a good sized (11 ft) backhoe hanging off the rear and I don't think it rides any different than the JD 710 that I also run. We're pretty rocky here, also.

I wouldn't lower the air pressure in the fronts by much at all since they are the ones that support most all of the weight that you pick up with the loader. You could go down to about 14-15 psig in the rear, some people say you can go lower but I don't want to riskslipping the tire from the rim. Filling my tires 75% with fluid seemed to help my ride some.
