Hey there,

My 2615 HST is eligible for the 5 year extended warranty (an additional 3 years) on the drivetrain and engine.

Mahindra wants $303 + $25 for an additional three years. My tractor is lightly used (about 55 hours in 9 months), primarily for field mowing and general schlepping stuff around with the FEL.

What's your opinion?? Is this worth the money??

Thanks!!

I'll be getting it on the 3316! seems like a small price to pay for extra peace of mind. I use the little monster a lot more than some though.

John, you mean an additional 2 years for a total of 5?

That's a small price to pay compared to a major mechanical failure. (not that it's likley)

I think the extended warranty extends it so it would be 2 year bumper-bumper and 5 year power train. I think that the price varies from model to model. Have you guys gotten a notice from Mahindra about this warranty plan? I got mine a couple of weeks ago. My dealer wants $395 for the extended warranty on my 3215HST. I wonder how many will decide to get it? I know on every car or truck since 1989, I have always gotten the best extended warranty that there was, and every time it has paid off.:D I never had any warranty issues with my 7520, and I hope that that I won't need it for the 3215, but I bought it just in case.;)

Well, I got the paper work for my 5 year extended warranty that is offered by Mahindra. It does not extent the bumper-bumper warranty at all.:( It extends the power train warranty from 3 to 5 years.

Just thought that I would let you guys know. ;)

Brian,

I am looking into this. I just reread the info that I have and you are right. If you bought a 15/16 series post 10/1/09, you get 2/5 coverage. But it appears the optional extension, which allows for coverage for tractors bought post 10/1/1/08 and pre 10/1/09, only gives the powertain extension, or a 1/5 coverage. I have asked Mahindra to clarify, because when a bunch of us dealers conferenced called a few times about this prior to implementation, I do not recall that distinction. And I am fairly sure I was paying attention!

Thanks for double checking on this Dave, I'm sure that it will make a difference on how many people opt for the additional coverage.
