Seems Mahindra & Mahindra Group along with Nissan & Renault are building a factory in the US to build cars. Link to the story is below.

Unless I missed it, it looks like they're builing a new plant in India.
I thought Mahindra already built cars, but maybe just trucks & suv's.

yes, they have been building cars for a while but they are just now planning to introduce them into the U.S. market.

Uh Randy .. what I saw in that article was "near the southern Indian city of Chennai". Not Indiana.

It looks to me like Nissan models will be built there for India's growing middle class. I didn't see any mention of exporting them.

Ok, lets start all over again.

Randy was right, Mahindra does intend to market an SUV in the US. Google on Mahindra Scorpio. It seems to be like a Hyundai or Kia SUV.

If it's more like an early Trooper I'll be the first in line to get one.

I imagine they'll be less costly than the competition but, I don't think I'd buy the first model year they imported them. I think the mileage Americans put on a car per year, plus the expectation of reliability, might differ from some of the foreign markets. Remember the Yugo?
