I have a Mahindra 7010 tractor with an ML 170 loader. Hydraulics of the bucket will not hold when rolled out as when the operator would use to backdrag or smooth a pile of soil. It simply rolls the bucket back like there is no resistance and/or the hydraulics is not holding the bucket in place. Is this problem in the joy stick control? Does anyone have experience with this issue? Thanks.

check your fluid levels before you worry too much.

Then connect/reconnect any and all hydro quick connects.

Will loader lift front end of tractor off ground? Make sure joystick is not getting pushed all the way forward to the float position.

Unless something has really changed, I don't thing that the float function of the lift circuit has anything to do with the curl circuit of the bucket.

The fluid levels are fine. I can reconnect the hydro quick connects but all other functions are working properly. I have not tried to raise the tractor with the loader but can give that a try. Other ideas?

You can or you did the reconnects? remember you have different hoses for lift and tilt functions. if you haven't disconnected/reconnected, you should try it.

No, I have not tried that yet. I will try that and let you know. Thanks.

Might be worth a try. Try to curl the bucket like you want it. Return joystick to neutral and then do it again. Doing that on mine will cause it to lift the tractor up so I can back drag

Other than that your fluid could be bypassing internally and need to be rebuilt.. they arnt showing signs of leaking are they?

It sounds like an issue with cavitation. Are you dumping the bucket and then finding this happens? If you roll the bucket ALL the way out and then cycle it back to the angle you want does it still do it?

Sorry to be late getting back with you. The disconnect/reconnect solved the issue.
thanks for your help!
