As far as I know, it should be engaged - at a slow speed - by steping on the petal. Continue depressing the petal as long a the Dif lock is needed. When you take your foot off the petal, and it comes back up, It is disengaged.
Hope it helps.

Major bummer! Can you bring the barn back also? /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Sorry to here about your barn and tractor. As for you diff lock I think you may find that if you step down on it should stay engaged as long as you have a load on it. Once you release the load (come off the throttle or go down the other side of the hill) it will disengage. Hope that helps

Sounds like you might want to have your dealer look at it. What do others think?

I take it you don't have loaded rears. My 6000 rears are loaded. I've now got over 200 hrs on it and have yet to have to kick in the diff lock as I can't make it spin a half rotation even pushing a heavy load with the FEL. If you don't have your rear tires filled you should seriously consider it. Bobg in VA

It should drop into place when you press on it. Of course it depents on wheel speed and dirrection. We had a lengthy post on this not long ago, TracLock it may help with understanding how it works. If it never engages then you may need to have it looked at. You could always call your dealer to see if your missing something. I've never been on a Mahindra, so I'm guessing its the same as any I have been on.

i would not have a tractor without water in the tires. I always fill them up first thing when i bring the tractor home. It is something mechanical there is no doubt in my military mind. thanks
