Kubota m5140 or mahindra 5530? 5140 $29900 and 5530 $24500. Both 4x4 with fel. Is mahindra reliable?

Tank, one of the reviews above is mine. I have 60 hours of use on the machine now. I can tell you that the 5530 is a very strong and heavy machine. It turns a Bush Hog 286 with ease, pulls a two bottom plow, an 8' disc without hesitation. I did have to get a throttle position sensor replaced under warranty. My Mahindra 5530 has been a good, reliable basic tractor. I will be using it to build a pole barn and house in the future, as well as continued mowing duties and small cropping tasks. I hope this helps. My biggest piece of advice is to be comfortable with the dealership before you buy, make sure they don't have a poor reputation.

Thanks for info. I really like the mahindra 5530, Kubota just out of my reach on price. The salesman said $24500 for 5530 4x4 with fel so I might can make better deal sitting in his office. Is that a fair price or what should I aim for?

Tank, accordiing to Mahindra's website, the MSRP for just the tractor is, $24,975 The price you've been quoted seems too good to be true. I'd jump on it before the dealer realizes you are stealing from him, at this price. Go for it. Mahindra 5530 4WD Shuttle - Mahindra Tractors - Heavy Duty, Value Packed Tractors. Whats the going price for the 5530 4x4 fel? I'm so new to this it is scary. Right now i have been using my grandfathers 1975 ford 2000 that needs some TLC. I't was inherited through family, but time has come to upgrade. I have been to the Kubota dealer and one Mahindra dealer. The salesman at the mahindra dealer told me that price and I about fell out. I even asked him is that with the FEL and he confirmed it was. Now i am worried when I go back the price will be different. One thing I feel is on my side is the economy still sucks so maybe prices will stay same.

I have a 08' 5530 4wd Turbo and all my equipment is heavy duty. I pull a 3 x 16's plow, a Bison 8' 242 back Blade tilt, offset with angle. A 10' Mahindra (Kodiak) mower, etc. Besure you get a minimum of two remote hydraulics before you take delivery of any Ag tractor. My deal when I bought mine was a FEL, the 242 Bison BB and twin remotes and a boom pole for under 28K. To top this off I bought mine sight unseen and never saw a Mahindra in person. Get to know your dealer before you buy any tactor especially the service department guys.

Tank...Is that a cash price ? Fiananced or what ?....Thats what I paid in my area for my 2012 4530 4x4 ,245 fel 3 months ago...I would jump on that price before it went away,as long as it was comparable to any other local dealers..(if there are any)

That was a financed price. I also was looking at the mahindra 7ft bush hog to go with it. Told me price was $2900.00 for bush hog, but could do a good package deal since I would be buying both.

Update on Mahindra 5530 4x4 fel price. Finally had a chance to get back to the dealer and talk to the salesman. He told me Mahindra started new promo friday the 26, the price is $27900 with the 0% finance. However the cash price I got him to was $25460. Thats 4x4 w/fel. I fill the cash price is good deal, but he then told me I could get the 4530 4x4 fel w/ 6ft rhino bush hog and forks for $25000 even. So I am kind of curious how he could throw all that in with the 4530 and not work a better deal on the 5530.

Yeah I am getting quoted a little over $27000 right now. 4x4, FEL, industrial tires. Didn't ask if that was finance or cash.

I personally feel that is a tad bit high.

Mahindra has a lot of behind the scenes programs, and they change them often. It is complicated, and sometimes it pertains to units in stock, sometimes to units bought in groups, etc. And it varies by model, and by purchasing method. And it can vary if the tractor is sold with a loader or not. Probably the stars have lined up for that dealer on the 4530 and he can do you real well on it. If dealers changed prices every time a manufacturer put an incentive on a model, it would get confusing, so often a dealer will just use that incentive to sweeten the deal on a particular model. This helps Mahindra manage inventory levels at the plants and in dealer stocks.
