Mahindra 4540
Hi All!
I am new to the tractor world and am interested in adding a third function remote to my new 4540. I have seen a lot of videos and discussions here but wondered if someone else has had experience doing this in this particular model. Do any of you use a diverter set up? If so, was it cheaper and/or recommended? Any help is most appreciated!

Thanks!

Diverter valves cost slightly more than 3rd function valves. But the costs will be roughly the same. Think instead of how you want it to work. There are a lot of threads comparing the two.

I'm still using a rear remote for my grapple but when I get around to it I'll build a 3rd function. I never feather the valve with my current set up and I'd rather use up and down buttons on the joystick to operate the grapple than a button and curl motion. Your needs may be different. There's no one right answer.

Boltonhooks.com has a really nice compact diverter valve.

3rd function valves are electrically operated and it’s full on or full off. Diverted are simple valves to reroute to different functions. For grapple & front work from the front end loaders (FEL), 3rd function is the most popular option.
