So I get a call around 11am. It is the dealer. He has found me a 2545! It is the exact same one I was looking at on Monday! It wasn't sold by another dealership, they were just confused and had an "inventory fiasco"!

This was super annoying - I have been calling every day since Monday asking if he had found me a tractor yet. It literally hadn't moved since I looked at it on Monday. It was listed in their inventory system as a different model so apparently the guy couldn't find it in the system on Tuesday when I called. When I told him that I was there the previous day and had just looked at it, he said that it had been sold by a different sister dealership.

So I drive up there to sign the paperwork since it is partially financed. He is going through the numbers and there is a $300 shipping fee. I tell him that the guy I spoke with on Monday told me that shipping was included if I purchased a tractor from them. He tells me that he is already selling at a discounted price, he can't move on price, it would be cutting into profit, etc. I was starting to get a little angry and told him that they needed to get all their staff on the same page, had I known they were going to charge shipping, I would have brought a d*mn trailer. He apologizes but says there is nothing he can do.

As far as getting the tires loaded, I verify that he is going to have the unit shipped 30 miles to another facility, have the tires loaded, then ship it back to his facility. Then it would be shipped to my home. I ask if I didn't get the tires loaded and saved him 60 miles of transport, would he just ship it to my house and not charge the $300? He says "No". I tell him to not worry about loading the tires, I wasn't willing to wait until mid next week to get the tractor. I also tell him to remove the shipping charge, that I didn't expect to pay it and wouldn't, I would pick the tractor up later today.

We start looking at the rest of the numbers and the interest rate is 1% higher than what I was quoted over the phone a week prior. I write everything down, I've got a notebook of notes from every transaction I've had over the phone. This guy says that the other guy didn't know what he was talking about and there was nothing he could do. We proceed - he ran the credit application and said that all we would need to do when I returned was sign the paperwork.

I meet my dad at his house and we drive the 50 miles back up to the dealership. I sit down to sign the papers and the guy informs me that I need to fill out paperwork with my home insurance agent, address, phone, policy number, etc. before I can purchase the tractor. I have none of this. I have to call the company and get all this information over the phone. I get it and sign the paperwork. He shakes my hand and I walk out and start loading it. My dad mentions that there is no draw bar on the tractor. I realize that I have no documentation. I walk back in and tell them we are missing the draw bar and that I don't have the manuals. Takes them 10 minutes to dig through documentation to find the correct manual. They can't find the draw bar so they rob it off another new tractor. While doing this the guy realizes he only gave my dad one key, the other was in his pocket.

How incredibly frustrating.. I'm just glad it's over. I'll try to post up some pics tomorrow.

Sorry you're having such a rough time on the purchase. Once you get it, you might want to let us know who the dealer is so that we can "avoid" him if we desire.

You're much more forgiving than I would be. I would've told him to shove the tractor up his ***, and drove to TX to get one if necessary, just due to principal, but that's just me. I used to have my own retail business, and if I told a customer something, it was in stone.

I bet you'll love the tractor.

Yeah my dad was giving me a hard time for not walking out and buying a kubota instead.

I'm typically not tolerant of shenanigans but the four closest mahindra dealerships to me are the 4 that are within this one group. I doubt their central hub location is all that bad - I don't think this one does or has done very much business.

What a pain!

Here in Central VA I just fill my Mahindra 7520 tires with water. Its a little heavier than washer fluid and you can change ballast at whim by bleeding or adding. Winter issues are not bad. ... In SC I think you would only get very light icing at most. Thats harmless in a tubeless tire.

I'll make another thread after I get some more time on the tractor about first impressions. I messed around a little on it earlier today but it was cold and drizzling rain. Tomorrow it will be a lot nicer out.

One question I have - I wanted to go through the grease points and make sure there was good moly grease on all the wear surfaces. The grease fitting at the front axle pivot didn't seem to take grease the way I was expecting. I had to get the paint off several of the fittings (See image below) but that didn't appear to be the problem here. I made sure that I could depress the plunger with the tip of my pocket knife. I had my grease gun on "pressure" (Versus volume) but the grease wouldn't flow into the fitting freely. After messing with it a bit, I pressed the plunger with my knife and new grease started shooting out, appeared to be under pressure. Is this normal? I expected grease to come out from somewhere but it didn't.. Also, the front steering links (ball joints?) that were greasable seemed to fill up with grease like a balloon. I didn't want to overfill so I stopped pumping after I realized pressure was building up in the rubber boot. I'm assuming this is normal as well?

Normal on the steering boots. - - On center pivot try lifting the front end with the loader. If it still wont take grease talk to the dealer.

. . . Probably oughta put a dab of grease on that rust.

Yeah I plan to pick up some fluid film or similar to hit all the existing rust and all the exposed metal once it quits raining.

So I tried greasing the fitting at the axle pivot with the wheels off the ground. Same situation - wouldn't take any grease. I screwed the grease fitting off and grease shot out, clearly under pressure. Same situation as yesterday. I put the fitting back on and pressurized it again. I was expecting grease to come out from somewhere if everything was working properly.

I have a 4540 and there aren't any grease fittings in the area your picture shows, yours might be different but it's very hard to see a grease fitting in that picture.
