Magnesium Malate

Looking for brand recommendations for Mg Malate.

Never used it before, want to try some for muscle issues. No pharmacy or health/fitness shop around here has any, so will likely end up ordering online.

Starting to remind me (supply-chain wise) of the depths of Covid...... BC dock strike isn't helping.....

I like magnesium citrate from VitaCost. Equivalent to magnesium maleate.

Just stay away from magnesium oxide which has a bioavailability of something like 2%, and despite that occurs in many otherwise reputable vitamin brands.

When you dig into the details of magnesium requirements, it is hard to get enough of in most parts of the world, even with an otherwise good and balanced diet.

There was a FDA recall of a lot of Magnesium Citrate products recently, so there is a shortage.

Thanks, that was for the laxative version from VixJon, and their many subbrands. It was a biggie. I assumed that since @3930dave mentioned muscles that he wanted magnesium maleate for reasons other than laxatives. I could easily be wrong, of course.

I haven't had an issues with the supply of tablets. Have you?

I had to find a new supplier and had a two week delay in getting magnesium malate earlier this year. I use it as it aids in oxygen absorption and it serves a couple hundred other biological functions in the body.
I try to get most of the intake from the foods I eat, bananas, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, almonds, spinach, milk, yogurt and dark chocolate. All foods high in Magnesium.
When I'm on the road I don't drag all that variety of food around with me so I take a supplement.

I take magnesium glycinate at bedtime. Best sleep aid you can buy.
Knocks you on your ass and helps with muscle recovery.

Agreed, most of the population is running Mg deficient..... Potassium is the other biggie, worthy of its own thread.....

I use Mg Citrate normally. Supply up here has been good (knock wood). Costco stocks a Canadian mfg Webber, and they are distributed elsewhere up here too, not sure about south of 49'th.

Had a recommendation recently on the Malate..... my Achilles heel is located in my lower back-muscles, so will try it myself too, but the better-half is having leg muscle issues lately.

Range of function (for these basic compounds) in the body is impressive..... as I've joked @ physio (back muscles).... Why don't these bodys come with Owner's Manuals ? (But had to agree with the response - Nobody would read them ! Esp. guys !)

The purest formula I use is Raw Pumpkin seeds, I believe it is the food that has the highest content of Magnesium Malate.
