Does anyone have any information about using magnesium chloride for tire ballast.

I`ve not known of anyone useing the Mag chloride in tires.I did some research and found it is being used as deiceing agent in some states. It`s corrosive and when hot the corrosiveness increases so will reguire useing tubes to protect rims.

If I was looking for a tire filling agent, I'd look real hard at RimGuard, a non-corrosive fluid that weighs about 10 lb. per gallon, as opposed to most water based metal/chloride solutions that come in near 8 or 9 lb per gallon unless you really make them strong and thus more corrosive. Windshield fluid is lighter due to the alchohol content. I understand that rimguard is beet juice. Others here probably know for sure.
