We had a pretty crude-looking DIY pole where I worked. The boss said he wanted something nicer some day. I was passing a project on my way to work one day where a new owner was repurposing a large warehouse and parking lot. I stopped and had a chat with the super regarding the old light poles. He said they could be mine when they dropped them. Ended up with four nice tapered 40-footers for $100 and had our flatbed go get 'em. When I retired three were still in the weeds behind the shop
I found the necessary parts for the top online and added uplights that we had left from one of our projects somewhere. To mount the lights we welded threadolets near the existing wiring handhole. We extended an existing dusk to dawn circuit nearby for our site lighting. A small crane was used to set the pole.
