With regard to the radiator there is a product in the UK called 'Radweld'. Presumably it's also available in Americaland.

Depending on what you're cleaning of course you might try a petrol/paraffin mix. I suppose that should be gas/paraffin mix. Assuming that it's still called paraffin over there.

Glad to see you've got it revived and on the right track. If try to take radiator to radiator shop for repair if possible. Surprised you didn't find mouse nest in air cleaner too along with all the wires chewed into. I'd change all the fluids too before the snow flys too. If you have tsc up there they have the ford fluid you need & oil filter.

I think paraffin is called kerosene in Americaland and Canadaland as well.

I agree with the shop repair; should be quick and easy.

EDIT: Good heavens! It wasn't that naughty a word. Anyway I've just found out that a petard is a small bomb!!

Good stuff, Mate.

I hope the brakes are better than the 'breaks'. :)

I'm sure more will break soon enough, but yes, for now the brakes stop the tractor. Which I guess is better than before where the crap in the gas just stopped it before it would even move :)

The rad seems to be holding thus far but I'll see if there's a decent rad shop in town. Unfortunately town is an hour away so there's a lot of "field" repairs that go I out here!

Far as I know the only fluid left to change is the engine oil. No TSC here or anywhere close so I have a filter coming in the mail. Should be here this week so I'll change that all up as soon as it does. God only knows when the snow will start flying around these parts. Could be any day. Could be a month.

In the short term I ran diesel in the parts washer. It's what I had and one of the recommended to use in the washer manual. Kerosene is most certainly one of the others. I picked up a couple of gallons of Varsol to try as well. All my mechanic friends seem to run that in their washers.
