If I was looking for a tractor I'd take a chance on this one for $27,500. Rear tires are mis-matched tread which might create vibrations. I like the hyd reverser on my M7040 & it has moved many 100's of rd bales. I wouldn't be too concerned about the hrs of use. My rd baling tractor has over 11,500 hrs of use.

Id be way more concerned about the type of oil he used. Ask him what he used for hydraulic transmission oil. Tractors are no different than other mechanical equipment. They can experience failure even when properly maintained.
I think people who own tractors see them do amazing feats, like go through 2 foot deep mud or pull out a stuck vehicles and think they are indestructible. They are not. They need rigorous maintenance.

He did used the recommended fluid from kubota. He buys the filters in bulk from napa at their yearly half off filter sale. He gave me half a bucket of the fluid and 3 of each fuel, air, oil and hydraulic filters for the tractor as well. I guess that's worth a little bit.

I agree 100% on the maintenance!

Thanks. I reckon i bought it. Just waiting on him to get back in town.

I did notice the back tires, but i ran it up the road and all seemed good. I'm hoping to get a couple years out of the tires. I'll keep my eyes open for a good used set of tires for it. I seem to see that size fairly regularly on craigslist.

I think the best thing you have going for you is you know the seller and Id be kind of surprised if he sold you a pile of junk. Try to match the rear tires as TxJim said. Don’t be afraid to buy a set of matching used tires with 1/2 tread. They are much easier on hay fields when you make sharp turns. They dont rip the grass as bad.
