M7040 Easy Checker Glowplug light

Recently upgraded from from L series to M7040HTC.

I find the glowplug easy checker light does not come on even though we are in the 30 degree days here in Michigan. I am not having a starting problem. The engine turns over immediately without waiting for a glowplug signal as I did with my 5030.

Can anyone tell me how the glow plug easy checker light works in their **40 series tractor?

You may want to ask "M7040". He's got the handle and tractor to give you the answer. You could PM him if needed. Me, I'm not a real Glowplug, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.

it only comes on if very cold. Mine has not been on as of yet and suspect it needs to be significantly colder than now to come on.

The operator's manual reads that the glow plug preheat is automatic with key turned to on position and "engine coolant temperature" is below 32 degrees F. It also goes off (light) automatically once preheat is completed.. Mine has come on briefly once or twice this year.
