That would only work for a very small beer cooler. I run mine off the PTO.:D

ROTF LOL!!:D Let's have a tractor party at IslandTractor's place!:D

I talked to my dealer today. He is having some trouble getting the extra hydraulics I want on my tractor: 3rd function FEL valve, 3rd rear remote, Hydraulic quick-coupler. It sounds like MAYBE January 18th at best. So I have two options. I can either wait until toward the end of the month to get my tractor or I could have him deliver it and put all these goodies on at the 50-hour service. I'm seriously thinking about the latter option!:D

I would suggest that only if the dealer guarantees you it will be the same labor. I know after-the-fact installations of the rear remotes costs more after delivery because they have to take apart stuff they assembled earlier. Does that make sense?

My dealer gave me early delivery without all the options and then picked it up and installed later at no cost to me. He should be willing to do that. remotes are apparently in short supply. I think it took more that tree weeks to get

That is probably true. He told me today that yesterday the Kubota distributor said it would be at least January 18th. Now, today, there's something wrong with the computer inventory tracking system. They said they could give a more definitive date on Monday. But I'm guessing it would probably be closer to the end of the month. It shouldn't be a problem with extra labor cost. He was going to have to do all that (disassembling) with this tractor no matter when it was done. He's really good about guaranteeing prices and provided good support. He's even come out to my farm after hours when I had a problem with my ZD-28 mower and charged nothing. So I feel confident that he would stick to his word and not escalate his prices or labor if the extras were put on in 3 weeks.

Now the question is should I go ahead and take delivery on the tractor now or wait a few weeks to have the extras put on? What would you guys do?

I don't know Glowplug...you may be close to a record for number of posts without owning a tractor. I'd make sure you secure the record before you take delivery.:D

I hereby nominate Glowplug for the TBN equivalent of the Texan "All hat, no cattle" award. And, I hope he remains eligible for the award for only a few more days.

Agree 128 posts without having a tractor. This must the most considered purchase ever. Just think what will happen after delivery..........

My guess is, unless he has wireless-broadband and a laptop to post form the cab we'll never hear from him again!

This is my 458th post. I could hold out a little longer to see if I can win for the most posts without a tractor. If I was really ambitious, and patient, I could try to surpass Mr. Bird at over 18,000 posts. If I could do that and still remain tractorless then I would be the all-time #1 poster even without a tractor. But I may have to post each word as a separate new reply.:D

Now THAT'S an idea!! Hmmm.

I stopped by my dealer today. They were working on the tractor in the garage. They had the canopy on the ROPS and were putting in the canopy work lights I had requested. There's still no word on the 3rd function valve or 3rd rear remote from Kubota though since their computers are down for inventory. I'm gonna wait until at least Monday to hear what the time-frame would be on the delivery of the other hydraulics. Then we'll see if I go ahead and take delivery on the tractor or wait until the hydraulics are put in. I did ask him specifically about any possible extra cost. He said there would be none. The overall price would not change. The only problem would be the waiting. I'll tell you what. . .sitting in that garage she sure is pretty!!:D

Just think how many posts I'd have now if I put every word here on a separate reply.

He's not even close. I think one of the moderators, "Harv" in California was over 1000 before getting his tractor. Too bad there's not official stats for that sort of thing!

I'm starting to think that Glowplug is just teasing us. He tells us that his new tractor is on order, but he has to wait for delivery due to this, that and the other thing. Then he says that they are working on it and that the canopy and aux lights have been installed. Also says that she is great looking. Well if this is indeed the case, WHERE ARE THE PICTURES, we want pictures, even if they are at the dealers garage.

Pleeease show us that you are not just playing with us poor looowly tractor junkies. I'm not sure how much longer some of us can take this.:D

Rumor has it that he is now waiting for his dealer to install an area wide WiFi system for his 16 acres so he can monitor TBN and make posts while mowing.

Chuck, if we can just figure out where to get the mating plug for the electrical aux outlet behind the seat in the m7040? The dealer has not been helpful and I am at loss where to find it?

I have only looked at that aux. plug briefly one time but I believe it is the same as used in many marine applications for trolling motors and depth finders. We have one on a small pond boat and I was able to fine the male ends through Bass Pro Shop. I may be wrong but it would be worth a search of some marine supply sites.

Hey Chuck - everyone makes big purchases at their own pace. Nobody else here is writing the exact same check you are. Part of you wants it now. Part of you is saying think about it longer, keep your options open, get everything the way you want it, then move. Ain't nobody's business but yours, when and how you do it. If you wake up tomorrow thinking one of those AEBI Terratrac rigs makes more sense, then fine. After all, they have 3-pt hitch on both ends, wide track stance, nice cab, big Kubota or Detroit diesel, 4-wheel steering, and a way-cool multi-button joystick that does it all. Just a thought.;)
