I dropped my rider in for service this morning, had it now 5 years. Had some leaky tires from a thorn or something so I'm having them place tubes in all 4 tires and they I told them to add that slime inside the tubes. Anyone have any issues with this? I didn't want that slime on the rims, so I told them to add the tubes.

For the hydro trans question,
At 4 years I drained the oil from removing a few bolts on the bottom the trans, dealer said to replace it with 10w-30 motor oil (that was 2 verified calls to two dealers). Theres no spin on filter, theres just a metal screen in the tranny according to the JD website manual so I didn't replace the screen, cause I would had to drop the tranny bottom plate.

So I replaced the oil with 10w30, I ran it all last summer, it seemed to run fine, and no louder noise or such. This winter while sitting it started to drip leak. And continues to leak some.

Thinking that this isn't right, I decided to send it in to the dealer and let -them- service the transmission (oil, screen filter cleaning), find the leak, replace belt trans drive etc..

When I went in this morning and asked them what weight fluid oil they were gonna use, they said Low Viscosity JD Hydro. I said you guys told me 10w30 last year??? He said, no we should have never said that.

Needless to say I was a little miffed by them telling me different answer now, my question is -

Did I hurt my hydro transmission running 10w30 motor oil for one summer?

Thanks,
John

I had this mower and I used 10w-30. It said it right in the manual that I had. I never had any problem at all with my hydro.
