LX 176 traction drive problem

I have a 1997 lx176 that keeps losing drive power after 20 min. or so. The belt is new. How can I find out if it has the K46 tranny in it?

If the drive belt is new and is the correct belt from John Deere, then the problem most certainly is internal. You could try changing the fluid. If the belt is not from John Deere, I would go to a dealer and invest in the John Deere drive belt. Not all belts are the same and these tractors are notorious for not being aftermarket belt friendly. This thread may help you out:
