I finally got my camera back from the in-laws.

Took some pictures of the new Lucknow 78" rear mount blower on the 5030HSTC. This blower looks real industrial. Check out the hydraulic rotator and the height of the discharge chute.

I will have to be careful about where I point that chute. I have a feeling that the volume of snow as well as the discharge distance is going to be pretty good. The impeller is 2 times as large as the Woods was.

The kids across the road are really bummed out. They know that the school bus will be coming for them no matter how drifted the snow gets.

We have had some 6 foot drifts here in the past. The 60" Woods I had before couldn't cut that deep of snow. besides, it wasn't wide enough for the 5030. It worked fine on the 3710, but the 3710 didn't have a cab or heat!!!

Here is another picture, from a different angle.

Another picture. I wanted the unit in orange, Kubota orange to be exact, but Helm Welding must only have blue paint. Would go good on a New Holland (uch)!!!

Here is a picture of the hydraulic chute rotator, lines and actuator cylinder.

I never have to get out of the cab. I can listen to a C.D., enjoy the heat and rock on......Ah yes, snow removal is shirtsleeves, slacks and Dockers.

I am playing at being a yuppie!!

Re: LUCKNOW 78\"-5030HSTC

maybe it's me, the camera angle or? But, that upper link on your 3pt seems awful small to hold up that big blower. Pic must be deceiving, huh?

Another picture, the most important part, the name plate!!!

This blower was actually cheaper for it's size than my Woods was and it's much more heavily constructed. The Lucknow weighs around 1300 pounds. About a third again as much as the Woods. This blower also has grease fittings on the auger shafts and idlers.

It must be the camera angle. It does look rather puny in the picture. The blower is most certainly not puny though.

The top link is extended pretty far. We will see how it holds up. If it pukes, I'll get another, bigger one.

I don't know why, but the top link is category 1 on the tractor end and category 2 on the implement end. I'd prefer cat II on both ends but that will necessitate re machining the mounting plate at the transmission case. Not that it's beyond my means. It's a simple machining job, I am just putting it off until something breaks.

when I use to run digital computers into Ottowa Canada three times a week, that's all one would see. It is definitely the high end in blowers. Must be the angle of picture but I am sure you won't have any problems with it other than maybe some adjusting

lamarbur:

I might get my chance, soon. It's snowing here about an inch per hour. I checked weather.com and there is a white blanket that extends past Omaha and is tracking right down on us.

I can see that I am going to have to make some modifications on the Lucknow next summer. The skid shoes are underneath. I am going to add some outboard shoes on the inside edge of the blower side sheets. I made a set for the woods and hard rodded the bottoms. I think I'll do the same here. Also, it doesn't have a scraper/wear bar at the leading edge of the vertical sheet. I think an addition of an old county plow wear bar would work fine. Finally, the top of the chute needs a rubber deflector. The holes are there so I will grab a truck mud flap and make one. Sometimes I don't want the snow to go a hundred feet, I want to just pile it next to the blower like when I do the access lane to the horse barn. Other than those three mods, the thing is built like a tank.

I hope the 5030 is up to the task. I almost opted for twin augers. I could have increased the feed rate with two but I thought it would tax the tractor too much. The Lucknow is rated for up to 100 pto.
