I am helping a woman who owns a NH TC 30 to maintain her tractor.
How many quarts of oil does a TC 30 require with an oil change and filter? Also where is the oil filter located?:)

This TC-Series link should get you started. It does not give fluid capacities but my 33D needs 1gl for an oil change.

You might want to check my following advice but I did read this somewhere on TBN. When adding oil to a TC series tractor, add the oil slowly. Why? If the oil puddles on top of the cylinder head it will run down the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) hose into the intake manifold. When the tractor is cranked, the oil will be pulled into the cylinder thus causing a hydraulic lock resulting in a bent piston connecting rod.

Two years ago a person asked me why his engine was knocking after changing the oil. He also said it was like the battery was dead but did finally start and began knocking and misfiring on one cylinder. At that time I did not know the answer.

I also recall that sad tale. I expect adding a quart then waiting 10 seconds or so and adding the next if fine, I don't know for sure. Also, I think this is only true on some models, but I don't know which ones.
