LT-1045...Single or V-Twin?

The hydro problem was due to a idler pulley spring tension problem on some models. I own a 1050 with a triple bagger and it will slow down some when the bags get full and you are on a grade; but that is to be expected. Buy it from a local dealer; not a big box store. Tell him what your plans are and go with his recommendation. I have never pulled anything with mine, just mowed.

From what I am told, Cub was having a hard time keeping up with demand on the 1045 sold at Home Depot. The engine supplier upgraded the engine to the 710 (twin) to just meet the numbers that were being sold. Most units shipped after mid-March will be the twin. Snap it up! I did and I love the motor and my Cub. It is much quieter than the single and is more than capable of draggin my 200 lb frame up a 25 degree incline in my yard...no problems. It's a steel at Home Depot for 1699 and I used a 20% off coupon. Not a bad deal.

TPajak is correct; CC started useing the twin in the 1045's due to shortages of the Kohler single. Will they go back to the single ? who knows!
