Well still no tractor.Talked to the dealer yesterday he said ma-be next week.Meaning the week after Christmas. He told me that LS is way behind and is selling a lot of tractors.I do not know if that is true, has anyone else ordered a tractor and had about a 2 month or over waiting time? I do not mind waiting because I would rather get a so called fresh tractor, rather then one that has set on another dealers lot out in the weather for several months.

Unless they forgot to order it sounds like they were buying time so that they could have a full trailer, or split a load with another dealer.
Regardless the dealer needs to be honest with you as to why the delay.

How did your Montana, being an LS, hold up? I'm curious how many years and hours you put on it.

When it ran it ran good, but I am not very happy with it.I had a little over 100 hours on it and the block cracked.By this time Montana was going belly up,but to the dealer's credit he backed it with no cost to me. I was told it had a seed in the cast that cased the crack. At about 125 hours the head cracked. I firmly believe that when the block cracked it over heated and the head cracked and the dealer missed it.This repair cost me $3000.00 dollars.I made a mistake and took it to a local tractor mechanic. It took 9 months to repair it.During that time he had a hip replaced,so I had a torn down tractor sit there until his hip healed.
About 3 months ago it over heated again, while I was brush hogging.I check fluid levels every time I run it. I was into about 3 hours of brush hogging when I noticed the temp going up.I shut it down and let it sit until it cooled and added about a gallon of anti-freeze.I have not had trouble since.

I got 5 years total on this tractor on the meter it says about 175 hours. How ever the dealer fried the instrument panel and had to replace it so it went back to o at that time.So it has to have about 230 to 250 hours on it.

This is not my first tractor I have had several old ones.I still have an International 464. I have never had problems with any of them over heating. Try to trade a Montana, the Deere and Kubota dealers laugh at you.I did not want to sell it to a private party because I did not feel comfortable probably selling him a lemon.

So I went to the guy I bought the Montana off of who now sells LS and worked the best deal I could. At least it comes with a 5 year warranty. Others I know that own LS made products have not had the trouble I have had,so i am hoping this was an odd tractor and my new one will be okay.

Nah I believe him.He told me he ordered a tractor for another guy few days before he ordered mine and he hoped they would come together. That one came in by itself a couple of days ago. He said Christmas might mess things up,but expects mine in next week. Its really no big deal,I can still use the Montana to feed the round bales. The international is ready to plow snow, but so far we have not had snow and the 15 day forecast has temps in the upper 40's.

He says he has the Montana sold so he wants my tractor worse then I want the new one.

I sure hope this is not Deja vu.In 2000 I ordered a new Chevy Duramax,it actually took 9 months to arrive.I was pretty excited for 9 months.I got a lemon and had a lot of trouble with it and traded it on a 2004 Dodge Cummins that I still have.It has been 12 weeks since I ordered this tractor.I called the dealer Monday and he said it has been shipped and will be in this week.He also said that he has at least 1 other tractor ordered before mine that has not arrived yet.

I have noticed in several Magazines I read that LS is doing a lot of advertising.Does anyone know if LS sales are up and they are having trouble filling orders?I am using my Montana sparingly, but I am using it.Will be glad when the LS comes and I have a nice warm dry cab.

Ordered on Oct 28th.Told it would be here on Dec.2nd.Arrived at the dealer a week ago last Tue.on Jan 26th.They delivered it Today Feb.6th.Told it would be here around 9:30am and the dealer said he would call when it left the dealership. It arrived at 1:30PM with no dealer call.102 days that is 3 days shy of 15 weeks.Yep I am frustrated.I am definitely looking for another dealer for service work.I would have refused it but I already paid for it.That was a dumb mistake on my part.

You are a more patient man than me. Same song and dance I got from the LS dealer on a XR4155 and why I now own a Kubota. I only gave them an extra week after their 2 week guaranteed delivery date.

15 weeks for delivery is concerning.

Do LS dealers not stock many tractors on their lots or something? I've never visited one so that's why I asked. Deere and Kubota around here have rows and rows of tractors from the smallest to the biggest it seems. They have all the transmissions and configurations you could dream of. I've heard of ordering a tractor but it never seemed to take long and they usually could get what you wanted without ordering, unless you had specific options that only the factory could add.
