Hello all, first post here but have been reading for a few weeks now. I am looking at an XU5055 tier 4 to work on my recently acquired 120 acre piece of heaven. It is about 50% pasture and the main uses would be brush hogging, and clearing. I would like to run a 7" cutter and was wondering if you thought that the 5055 would be able to handle that as well as the other general uses on a farm this size. The dealer also had a tier 3 50hp TYM on the lot. I am a bit partial to the LS but any feedback on the TYM, (as in tier 3 vs. 4), would be appreciated as well.
Thanks

I have the U5030, which seems to be about the same tractor, just with the Tier 3 motor. I have a 6' Bush-hog, but it would handle a 7' cutter easily. I had originally thought of going with a 40-50hp tractor, but am now glad I went bigger.

Thanks for the input. I was thinking the same thing and went bigger. I ordered the 14 LS XU5055 this morning. Got the 7' Woods cutter, canopy, and quick attach. Should be on the lot in about two weeks the salesman told me. Bought it Freeburg MO., the people there seemed very nice and knowledgeable as well.

It would probably handle an 8 footer ... nice tractor, congrats! If I could get that or the 5065 in HST, I'd own one.

Thanks, the dealer just called me this afternoon and told me the tractor will be in middle of next week. I am anxious to try it out to say the least.
