I recently bought a LS4150hc with the LS LB2100 backhoe. The backhoe was installed by the dealer at time of purchase. I also got the wr long 3rd function kit, also installed by the dealer. I didn't get a chance to try out the BH until recently and to me is seems really under powered. I know it's not the most powerful BH out there for that size tractor but this seems like something is wrong. Not sure if this even matters because it may vary on the BH but I've seen many people with the BH lift the rear of the tractor off the ground just to demonstrate how powerful the bh is. My LS bh will not lift the back end or even come close, don't know if that matters or not just something I've noticed with others, could also be tractor weight too.
I tried digging into some dirt which is probably about a medium hardness and it seem to really struggle. Just lowering the boom down would not make the 9" bucket teeth penetrate into the dirt. There where times when I was able to get a hole dug that the bucket curl would not curl at all as if it didn't have enough power(bucket force its 2600lbs & dipper stick is 2100lbs) to curl in the dirt. I've been using the 9" bucket the entire time. Some of this could just be operator error as I've never used a BH but I'm also curious if the wr long 3rd function is robbing the BH of some power. The BH runs off one of the factory rear remotes(the blue one).I do not have anything attached to the 3rd function at the time of using the BH. Any suggestions on how to check this out or if anyone had any experiences like this?
