Thanks Lontex, we are very close to pulling the trigger on this one. The reason for the bigger hp is to run a 60kw backup generator. Also looking at a 5101E John Deere. Waiting for a quote on that, I do like that the frame is a little smaller making it a little more nimble around the yard.

My relief valve location is on the lift arms about even with the front of the hood on the driver side if I remember right. I wouldnt tighten it down more than 1 round without putting a pressure gauge on the system. On my Yanmar it is located on the joystick controller

TUI01. Brent.

If you are spending that sort of money ( JD 5101E $49.000.-51.000) I would look at the McCormick CX95 (90 hp) $46-48.000. they are pretty well loaded Air seat, 3 Hyd. Remotes, electric shift. the best interior cab bar none. my wife did not want me to get a McComick because she knows if she gets to 'Lippy' I would take up residency in the McCormick. LOL. good luck with what ever you get.

Thanks Lontex, I have looked at them on the net before and they do seem well equipped. There are no local dealers near here. I have seen a couple come up for sale within a couple hours, just the dealers are not local. The local dealer support is one of the big reasons were looking at these 2 and unfortunately not at blue or orange. Not a fan of the locals unfortunately.

Thanks
Brent

I guess the LS are so reliable that no one has complaints to air, or else they are like me and just holed up for the weekend staying out of the cold. Looks like the coming week is going to be nice warm weather.

Gary,

How did you ever make out with your fuel tank/skid plate issue did LS rectify the problem, or just give you same tank as before? I have looked at my tank and am planning on removing skidplate and modifying a bit whenever I get home again. I was building garage this summer and used tractor for site prep, back filling and raising walls and grading floor so I didn't have time to modify, could not put tractor out of service for time it took to modify and I was too busy anyway. Plan on fixing when I get home for my long winter holiday. Too **** cold here in Alberta already.

I sent Greg a PM but for benefit of others, I you have an LS with bolts that go directly into the tank and it is not leaking yet, you need to contact the dealer and have him order you the revised mounting bracket to hold the brush guard plate if you have one bolted to the bottom of your fuel tank. LS has retrofitted the tank bracket and now the skid plate bolts to the tank mounting bracket rather than to the tank. If you can get it off prior to it cracking the tank, then all you would have to do is remove the plate, remove the old bracket and bolt on the new one. Dealers obviously arent recalling them unless they break. They did send me a new bracket with the tank which included fuel sending unit and cap free of charge which was good that I didnt have to fight for it.
